The former Newcastle United star is thriving in Ukraine.

In August 2014 Newcastle United looked to have pulled off a coup with the loan deal of Argentine striker Facundo Ferreyra.
He was signed from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk on a season-long loan deal which, according to the Daily Mail, included a condition to buy him for £6.5 million at the end of the spell if he impressed. Newcastle fans were rightly excited, given his goalscoring exploits.
However, he struggled with the physical side of the English game and he left the club in May without playing as much as a minute for the club – making the bench just five times in his season on Tyneside.
After leaving Newcastle, he was linked with several teams but nothing came to pass and he went back to Shakhtar – where he remains today.
The 26-year-old is also in fine form this season.

He has made just eight starts for Shakhtar in the Ukrainian Premier League, but has been ruthless in them – scoring nine goals. He also found the net three times in the Europa League in seven games, before the Ukrainian side were eliminated by Spanish club Celta Vigo.
He is the club’s top-scorer and is looking something like the striker Newcastle gave a chance nearly three years ago.
