Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Southampton’s performance against Manchester United on Monday evening.
Southampton played out a 2-2 draw with United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Former Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong put the Saints in the lead after just 12 minutes, but Marcus Rashford restored parity for the Red Devils on 20 minutes.
Anthony Martial then made it 2-1 to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side midway through the first half.
United seemed to be on their way to all three points, but Michael Obafemi scored for the Saints in the sixth minute of injury time.
Gary Lineker was following the match, and the former Leicester City and England international striker was impressed with the performance of Southampton and has praised them on Twitter.
Positive result for Leicester City
The draw is actually a good result for Leicester, who, like United, are aiming to finish in the Champions League places.
Brendan Rodgers’s side remain fourth for now, level on points with fifth-placed United and just a point behind Chelsea, who are third.
