Tottenham Hotspur announced their involvement in the new Super League on Sunday night, angering fans in the process.
Supporters are rallying against the plans, but they were hit with even more massive news this morning; Jose Mourinho is no longer Tottenham manager.
Mourinho has lost his job as Tottenham manager, with Daniel Levy deciding to pull the trigger after some disappointing results of late.
There have been some wondering whether the two announcements are related; that Mourinho’s departure is because of his issues with the new plans.
Wild rumours have been spreading on social media, that Mourinho opposed the announcement so strongly that he refused to even take training this morning, so Spurs let him go.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now taken to Twitter to completely rule out that rumour, hopefully putting it to bed once and for all.

Romano claims the decision is absolutely nothing to do with the Super League plans, and Mourinho never refused to take training.
Instead, the sacking is completely down to poor results and nothing else, so fans can move on from that particular rumour now.
