Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Manchester United could face another bid in 2026 for a player who’s become key to Ruben Amorim’s setup.
The reporter noted that clubs from one country remain interested in a certain Manchester United star, and they “keep thinking” about making a move for him.

Ruben Amorim made significant changes to his squad over the summer, both with new arrivals and players moving on.
Ineos backed the manager in the market, bringing in names like Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, Diego Leon, Bryan Mbeumo and Senne Lammens.
Amorim also moved several players out of the club, whether on loan or through permanent deals. Among those who departed were Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho.
Fabrizio Romano shares Saudi clubs are not giving up on Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes was on Saudi Arabia’s radar over the summer, with clubs in the Pro League showing strong interest in Ruben Amorim’s star midfielder.
Al Hilal were among the sides linked with a move and were reportedly ready to offer Fernandes a significant contract if he decided to leave Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old captain chose to stay put, turning down the approach from Al Hilal and staying at Manchester United for the 2025-26 season.
Fabrizio Romano pointed out that Fernandes is still “one to watch in 2026” as Saudi clubs continue to keep him high on their lists of targets.
Speaking on the ‘Here We Go Podcast’, he said: “Yeah, I think, for sure, the situation of Bruno Fernandes will be one to watch in 2026 again because as we mentioned on here on Men In Blazers on our podcast.
“From Saudi [Arabia], when they have a name on their shortlist of a top player like Bruno Fernandes, it’s very difficult to see them removing that name from their shortlist and going for someone else.”
Fabrizio Romano weighs in on Saudi Arabia’s interest in Bruno Fernandes and the potential for a 2026 move
Bruno Fernandes has faced criticism this season after being moved into a deeper midfield role by manager Ruben Amorim, but the Manchester United captain remains a key figure at the club. The Red Devils’ captain still scored in their 2-1 win over Chelsea last weekend.
Romano also mentioned that Saudi Arabia could attempt to lure Fernandes away from Old Trafford again following the 2026 World Cup in North America.
“Then, in 2026, I think from Saudi, they will be back,” he continued. “They will try again. They will try to tempt Bruno after the World Cup. Let’s see what he decides to do.
“But at the moment, what I can guarantee is that Bruno is fully focused on Man United.”
