West Ham United have beaten two Champions League clubs to the signing of Said Benrahma, Fabrizio Romano has claimed.
West Ham are set to sign Benrahma from Brentford today, after weeks of negotiating.
And it seems that the Hammers have put a spanner into the works of two clubs in Europe’s biggest competition.
They were reportedly hoping that the Algerian would remain at Brentford and were plotting moves in the new year, when they were hoping to land him at a cheaper price.
However, West Ham have paid a more expensive fee to ensure that he is their player for almost the full season.

The fact that there was Champions League interest in Benrahma just shows how impressive his form in England’s second tier has been.
The trickster was one of the most dangerous players in the Championship last season, and there is great excitement around his arrival at West Ham.
Benrahma could well break into the Hammers’ starting line-up sooner rather than later, and his skill in possession is expected to excite the London Stadium crowd.
