Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for Sergio Ramos during the January transfer window.
With only a few months left on his contract, Spurs were among those reportedly keen on bringing the Spain international to North London [Evening Standard].
And considering there is still no contract extension between Ramos and Real Madrid, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, who has worked with the player in Spain, might still be monitoring the situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ramos, who has won five Liga titles and four Champions League crowns with Real, could yet sign a new deal but as of now, there is ‘no news’ according to the player himself.
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared a quote from the 34-year-old defender, who has insisted that there has still been no breakthrough.
The Lilywhites are almost certainly going to sign centre-backs during the summer.
A dodgy defence is the only thing stopping Tottenham from being one hell of a team, because it certainly isn’t a lack of firepower at the other end of the field.
Ramos would be free, of course, but he would cost the North Londoners a fortune in terms of wages and given his age, chairman Daniel Levy might not be keen to sanction such a Bosman.
