Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to miss out on Pervis Estupinan, according to comments from well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Romano, who works for The Guardian among other media outlets, has claimed on Twitter that Watford have reached an agreement with Villarreal to sell Estupinan.

The Hornets will reportedly get an initial transfer fee of €15 million (£13.84 million) for the 22-year-old left-back.

This will come as a blow for Tottenham, who have also been linked with the Ecuador international left-back.

According to The Mirror (print edition, page 64, August 16, 2020), Tottenham are interested in signing the youngster this summer (click here to read more).

Missing out?

Estupinan has been on the books of Watford since 2016, but the youngster has failed to establish himself in the first team.

The left-back has been out on loan at Granada, Mallorca and Osasuna among other clubs over the years.

Tottenham have Danny Rose, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon in their squad at the moment, and even if Rose leaves, the North London club will still have two quality players for the left-back position.

Meanwhile, Southend United are interested in signing 22-year-old Shilow Tracey on loan from Tottenham in the summer transfer window, according to The Basildon Canvey Southend Echo.
