Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham have spoken to Angel Di Maria’s agent.
The Argentina international has been linked with a move to north London recently, and it seems as though those rumours have some grounding as Spurs have held talks with the 104-cap ace’s representatives.
However, this is far from a done deal, Di Maria is not a target this month and he’s still negotiating with PSG over a new contract.
“Di Maria has been offered to many clubs just because he is a free agent at the end of the season, so we’re going to talk about him,” Romano said.
“PSG are still negotiating with him for a new contract, so it’s not 100% that he’s leaving the club and there are chances for him to extend the contract. While he is negotiating his agent is talking with some clubs like Tottenham, some Italian clubs and many others.
“But at the moment I am told with Tottenham there is nothing advanced or nothing serious, he is not a target at the moment for sure for January, and next summer at the moment there is nothing advanced, and then if he will be a free agent we will see.”

This is certainly interesting to hear.
Di Maria would add a lot to Tottenham’s team, after all, he is a Champions League winner.
It would be great to see Di Maria have a second pop at the Premier League after an ill-fated spell with Manchester United a few years ago didn’t allow us to see him at his best on a consistent basis.
Hopefully, these discussions begin to advance in the coming months.
