Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that people at Spurs are not happy at all with Gareth Bale, claiming that he has no chance of staying at the club if he doesn’t change something soon.
The Welsh winger’s return to north London hasn’t quite been the fairytale we all hoped it would be, and it seems as though his lack of impact is rubbing people at the club up the wrong way.
“At the moment if Gareth Bale will continue like this he had no chances to stay,” Romano said.
“That’s what we can say, also talking with people around the club, they’re not happy. They’re not happy and they were expecting something different from Gareth Bale, they want Gareth to change something in the second part of the season.
“If he will go on with this style of play and this style of training, Mourinho wants something different. Yes, he wants something different, they signed Bale and they are paying the big salary of Gareth Bale, because they want him to make the difference and at the moment, he’s not making the difference.”
We can only hope that Bale is able to get back to his best before the end of the season.
Regardless of what’s happened this season, Bale will go down as a Tottenham legend when all is said and done, but it would be a real shame if it all ended on a sour note.
Whether or not he still has the ability to be a gamechanger in his locker remains to be seen, but every Spurs fan would love to see the Real Madrid loanee light up a game one more time before the end of the season.
