Speaking on The Arsenal Lounge YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Hector Bellerin’s situation at Arsenal.

It’s no secret that both parties want to go their separate ways this summer, with Bellerin consistently being linked with a move away from the club, but as of yet, the player Mikel Arteta once dubbed as ‘great’ hasn’t found a move.

Romano says that an exit hasn’t come to fruition yet because clubs are well aware of the fact that Bellerin wants to go and Arsenal are willing to sell him, because as time ticks on, both parties will become more and more desperate.

What’s been said?

Romano delivered an update on the right-back.

“Yes, they have been looking for a right-back for a long time, this is 100 per cent confirmed. Bellerin wants to try something new, but the problem with this deal is that everyone knows Bellerin wants to go and that Arsenal are prepared to sell him,” Romano said

“This is why many clubs are waiting for the final week or the final days of the window to jump in and find a solution. They were trying with Inter, but he was never the first option for Inter. Let’s see from Spain, I am told that Spanish clubs are now looking at this situation. You mentioned Bayern, Bayern are looking for a right-back, but they have different options, but he maybe could be one of the options if they want to do a swap deal.”

Matter of time

It seems as though it’s just a matter of time before Bellerin leaves.

The fact that it may happen towards the end of the window isn’t ideal, but with Arsenal’s cards there for all to see, it’s not a surprise to hear buying clubs are biding their time.

This is exactly why clubs are so desperate to keep their transfer stances secret, but unfortunately for Arsenal, this situation is as transparent as they come.

Bellerin may be a late departure from the Emirates this summer.
