Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Fabian Ruiz’s future amid ongoing links to Arsenal and Newcastle.
The Spanish midfielder is reportedly on the radar of these two Premier League clubs, and according to Romano, there’s a chance the Napoli ace will come to England.
However, before he decides on his future, he wants to understand Napoli’s future plans with Romano claiming that he will have a meeting with his agents to decide on his future before committing to any moves.
What’s been said?
Romano spoke about Ruiz’s situation.
“True, he’s a fantastic player, yes, there are chances I would say. At the moment we have rumours about clubs like Newcastle, but he’s not negotiating yet with these clubs. First he wants to understand what Napoli want to do. His contract is up in 2023, so there will be a meeting with his agents before he decides to stay or leaves this summer. There are chances for the Premier League and La Liga because many clubs are following him,” Romano said.

Could stay
It sounds as though Ruiz could end up staying at Napoli.
Of course, he’s a wanted man, but if he’s willing to listen to Napoli’s plans then it sounds like he’s open to staying in Italy.
To be honest, we can’t blame Ruiz. He’s settled in Naples and it looks like he’ll be playing Champions League football next season, something that Arsenal and Newcastle can’t guarantee him as of yet.
This seems like a situation to keep an eye on, but it probably won’t be resolved anytime soon.
