Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has cast doubts over the future of Carney Chukwuemeka at Aston Villa.
The young midfielder is entering the final year of his contract, and with no clear path into the Villa first-team, he could be on his way out of Villa Park this summer.
According to Romano, there are many clubs following his situation, and the Italian says that he’s not sure that the youngster will be staying in the Midlands.
What’s been said?
Romano discussed Chukwuemeka.
“I would keep an eye on him because many clubs are following him, so I’m not sure he’s staying this summer, I’m not sure,” Romano said.

Wrong time
This young midfielder is a potential star of the future. After all, he’s been labelled as ‘outstanding’ in the past, but sadly, he’s emerging at the wrong club at the wrong time.
Aston Villa’s midfield is packed with talent at the moment, the likes of John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara and Jacob Ramsey could all be stars for years to come, and that’s before we even mention the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Tim Iroegbunam who are coming through with a lot of promise.
The fact that Arsenal and Liverpool have been looking at Chukwuemeka tells you all you need to know about his talent, but sadly, Villa can’t offer him what he wants right now.
Chukwuemeka may well go on to become a star, but unfortunately, he may end up blossoming away from Villa Park.
