Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal need to sell a forward before signing Tammy Abraham this summer.
Arsenal are reportedly very keen on signing Abraham this summer, but unfortunately for the Gunners, they’re not the only club in the race.
Indeed, Roma are also chasing the Chelsea striker, and while Arsenal want to pip Jose Mourinho’s side to this signing, they need to sell a player before they can progress.
What’s been said?
Romano gave an update on Abraham.
“Abraham will be leaving the club, we will see if it will be Arsenal or Roma, it is true that Roma have an agreement in place with Chelsea for Abraham, but it’s not 100 per cent agreed yet on details or with the player, because the player now needs to decide if he wants to go to Italy with Roma and Jose Mourinho or to Arsenal because Arsenal are really pushing, but Arsenal need to sell one player in this position, maybe Lacazette, so it’s like a domino also for Tammy, Atalanta wanted him but there’s no agreement,” Romano said.

Who to sell?
Arsenal need to sell a forward to get Abraham in, and there are a few candidates to leave.
Perhaps the most obvious is Alexandre Lacazette, he’s heading into the final year of his contract and he’s getting to an age where he may start declining.
However, another option may be Eddie Nketiah. The young striker has been linked with moves away, and as England U21s’ all-time record scorer, he’s bound to fetch a pretty penny if he’s sold.
Abraham is certainly worth signing. After all, he was once described as ‘unbelievable’ by Jack Grealish.
This certainly seems to be a situation worth keeping an eye on.
