Reports emerged this week that Tottenham had opened talks in an attempt to convince Andreas Christensen to swap Chelsea for Spurs this summer. But Fabrizio Romano reports that Christensen will reject any English clubs.
Christensen, 25, is out of contract at Chelsea in the summer after seven years at Stamford Bridge. Having joined as a teenager, he has clocked up a huge 153 outings – amid a two-year loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The defender, who has already amassed a huge 54 caps for Denmark, remains a crucial part of Chelsea. But he is one of three Blues defenders that are out of contract – along with Antonio Rudiger, and Cesar Azpilicueta.
CalcioMercato reported this week that Tottenham had opened talks to sign Christensen on a free in the summer – upon Antonio Conte’s request. But Romano has delivered an update, saying he will not consider English clubs.

A shame for Tottenham and Conte, who really could do with a player such as Christensen. On a free transfer, the Danish defender would be a massive improvement on some of Tottenham’s options – and, for nothing.
Tottenham boast Eric Dier in the middle of the defence. He has been excellent of late, and might even be recalled by England. Cristian Romero has shown signs of promise. But Ben Davies is not the long-term answer.
They need a player that can play on the left of a back three, but also one that can play anywhere in the back three. £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender Christensen is that man but Barca or Bayern is more likely.
