Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Dele Alli amid recent links to Everton.
It was reported a few weeks ago that the Toffees could move for Alli late in the transfer window, and with just days to go, it’s now or never for the Merseyside club.
However, while Everton may be keen on Alli, the player isn’t wholly sold on Everton, with Romano claiming that he wants to wait for the Toffees to appoint their new manager before he makes his decision.
What’s been said about Alli?
Romano shared what he knows about the Tottenham man.
“Dele Alli wants to play, and the situation has to change, so he could be a player to keep an eye on in the final days of the window. Newcastle could be a possibility, but keep an eye on Lingard. Everton is a possibility, but they’re not a priority now because the player wants to understand who will be the manager and what will happen with Everton before he says yes he’s joining or not,” Romano said.

May not happen
If Everton are going to bring Alli to the club, then it will have to be a mad dash in the final days of the window.
Everton need to sort out a new manager before they land Alli, and that is much easier said than done.
The last thing the Merseyside club want to do right now is to rush their managerial appointment, but if they don’t get it done by the end of this week, it seems as though they will miss out on Alli.
Let’s see whether or not Everton can pull this one off.
