Fabrizio Romano has said on The Arsenal Lounge that Massimiliano Allegri will not take charge of Arsenal unless the Gunners qualify for the Champions League.
The well-known and well-respected journalist, who works for The Guardian and SkySport, has said that Allegri is looking for a club that will play in the Champions League.
Romano made the comments when asked why Arsenal have not looked at getting Allegri in and why the Gunners would not consider dismissing Arteta at the end of the season and replacing him with the Italian tactician.
There are no (credible) reports anywhere claiming that Arteta’s job is under pressure, and it was a hypothetical question.
Romano said on The Arsenal Lounge about Allegri and Arsenal: “About Allegri, I can tell you that 100%, he wants to work in a club who is playing in the Champions League. He wants to be in the Champions League. Allegri’s dream is to win the Champions League. “
The Italian journalist added: “I know people around him and he wants to be in the Champions League.”
Stick with Mikel Arteta
If Arsenal do not finish in the Premier League top four or win the Europa League this season, then it will be a bad campaign for the Gunners.
