Well-known football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that there is no chance that Tottenham Hotspur will be able to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
Romano, who works for The Guardian among other media outlets, has dismissed Tottenham’s chances of bringing Zaniolo to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
According to a report in The Sun, Tottenham have had a bid of £45 million bid for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder turned down, with Roma valuing him at £63 million.
Romano has said that Spurs have no chance of securing the services of the Italy international attacking midfielder.
No Tottenham Hotspur transfer this summer?
Zaniolo is one of the best young players in Europe, and there is no surprise that Tottenham reportedly want him.
The attacking midfielder is very creative, and was compared to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba by former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini in Goal.com in February 2019.

Goal.com quoted Mancini as saying about Zaniolo in February 2019: “I’ve seen some qualities, he’s completely different from [Nicolo] Barella, Jorginho and [Marco] Verratti. He has the characteristics to do very well.
“The comparison with Pogba is there, but now he needs calm and patience or even he will get into trouble.”
The 21-year-old has had injury problems last season, but the Italy international still managed to score six goals and provided two assists in 16 Serie A starts, according to WhoScored.
However, with Roma having new owners now, it is hard to see them sell one of their most prized assets this summer.
