Speaking on Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Tottenham’s transfer plans and particularly when they will announce their first signing.
The transfer window has been open for quite some time now, and Spurs haven’t brought anyone in yet, but if Romano is to be believed, they could be getting a body through the door in the next week.
Indeed, Romano says that Spurs are close to clinching their first signing, stating that they could announce a deal within the next week.
What’s been said?
Romano was asked when Spurs fans should expect the first signing of the summer to be announced, to which he replied:
“We are potentially close in some days, in maybe one week. We will see because they are working on some potential targets, some public, some not, so we have to see it step by step, but I would keep an eye on centre-backs, and particularly Tomiyasu, because they are working on it, Fabio Paratici is working hard to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu.”

Exciting times
The Fabio Paratici era is well and truly underway at Tottenham, and it looks as though it won’t be long until the Italian makes his first move.
As Romano says, there’s every chance that Tomiyasu will be Spurs’ first signing, which would be an exciting arrival to say the least.
However, Romano also says there are some negotiations going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about, so it really is impossible to predict who Tottenham’s first signing will be.
One thing is for sure, Tottenham are certainly a club to keep an eye on over the next seven days, as it seems as though we may be getting some movement in north London.
