According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain now want Newcastle target Goncalo Ramos after struggling to sign Gianluca Scamacca, who is wanted by West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, PSG could have a big influence on the plans of Eddie Howe and David Moyes this summer.
The French champions – who have just replaced Mauricio Pochettino with Christophe Galtier – also shortlisted Hugo Ekitike, another player who Newcastle have expressed an interest in.
However, the freshest news is that PSG want to sign Ramos, who has won many admirers as a result of his scintillating performances for Benfica.
The 21-year-old sensation scored eight goals in all competitions last season, including a strike against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Newcastle – as well as Nottingham Forest – are now keen to sign the £34m-rated Portuguese wonderkid, but Howe, nor Steve Cooper, will be pleased about PSG and their riches gatecrashing the party.
Having said that, the Magpies also have plenty of money to spend, although they cannot offer Ramos Champions League football, which he would get in Paris.
PSG eyeing Newcastle target is good news for West Ham

While Newcastle will be frustrated to see PSG targeting Ramos, it is good news for West Ham.
Why? Well, the east Londoners only recently submitted a £34m bid for Scamacca, who PSG seem to be losing interest in as negotiations with Sassuolo falter.
That is great news for Moyes, as it means the biggest competitor for the Italy international’s signature is now starting to make way for West Ham to have a free run.

If the Hammers do manage to sign Scamacca, it would be a very exciting move for the fanbase.
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season, and is one of the most lethal young strikers in Europe.
Be sure to keep an eye on Ramos and Scamacca, as we could be in for a transfer merry-go-round over the next few weeks.
