West Ham United are looking to sign a new striker – but it seems that Eddie Nketiah won’t be making the move from Arsenal to East London.

The Hammers have sold striker Sebastien Haller to Ajax, meaning Michail Antonio is the only recognised striker at David Moyes’ disposal right now.

Finding a new striker has to be a priority now, and an interesting rumour emerged on Friday, with Arsenal striker Nketiah thought to be a target.

The London Evening Standard report that West Ham are interested in landing Nketiah, given that he is now inside the final 18 months of his contract with the Gunners.

West Ham want to see if Arsenal are open to a deal, given that Nketiah has started just three Premier League games this season, struggling for regular playing time.

The 21-year-old won’t want to sit around at Arsenal forever, but it also doesn’t look like he will be landing a move to West Ham this month.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have ‘no intention’ of selling Nketiah to West Ham, and are expected to keep hold of him beyond the end of the January transfer window.

Arsenal may want to think about a new deal for Nketiah if they aren’t keen on selling this month, as his value will only decrease over the next year without a new contract in the works – and the news may leave West Ham looking at other options.
