According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan have held a meeting about Dan-Axel Zagadou, amid interest from West Ham and Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, the reliable Italian journalist believes the 23-year-old was discussed as a potential signing, after his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired.
Romano adds that the Italian giants spoke to Moussa Sissoko and Houssine Kharja – who represent the Frenchman – and consider his availability as an interesting “opportunity” this summer.
It comes after West Ham and Newcastle both expressed an interest in Zagadou after his time with Borussia Dortmund came to an end.
The France Under-21 international made 22 appearances for the German giants in his final season at the Signal Iduna Park, although a series of injuries stunted his progress.

There have been rumours about Inter Milan also making a move for Ousmane Dembele, another player who is available for free after he left Barcelona.
However, Romano claims the France international was not discussed in this meeting, despite being represented by Sissoko as well.
West Ham & Newcastle should avoid Dan-Axel Zagadou
In our view, David Moyes and Eddie Howe should only consider Zagadou as a potential signing if they find themselves empty handed on deadline day, and he is still available, of course.
The centre-back has struggled with injuries across the last few years, missing a total of 46 games in the 2020/21 campaign after having knee surgery.

Of course, Zagadou is still young, and we hope he can avoid injuries for the remainder of his career, but with time to explore other options, Moyes and Howe do not need to take the risk.
If Inter Milan haven’t snapped him up by deadline day, and the Hammers and Magpies still need a defender, then maybe they should take a look, but as things stand, we believe alternatives should be pursued.
