Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter that Arsenal have no plans on recalling Matteo Guendouzi from his loan in Germany.

The Gunners have quite a few players out on loan at the moment but there’s an argument to be made that Guendouzi, at Hertha Berlin, is performing the best – a strong argument, too.

The French midfielder has scored twice in 10 Bundesliga appearances for the capital club since being axed by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta over disciplinary issues.

Arteta is said to be in the market for a midfielder this month following speculation about a move for Yves Bissouma of Brighton.

And with Granit Xhaka in hot water again with fans over his silly red card against Burnley last month, there is certainly logic in bringing Guendouzi back early.

There has been murmurs of that exact scenario over the past week but according to the reliable Italian journalist, it’s not happening.
