Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update about Tottenham ace Eric Dier’s future amid speculation that he’s being considered by Roma.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Serie A outfit after Jose Mourinho was appointed as their gaffer, but Romano says that there’s absolutely nothing to those rumours.
Romano says that it’s nothing but fake news, as is the story linking David De Gea with a move to the Italian capital.
“It’s really funny, but it’s fake news about De Gea and Roma. There’s nothing, no negotiations and no talks, no contacts between David De Gea and Roma or Jose Mourinho,” Romano said.
“Also to clarify about Mourinho, there is nothing between Roma and Tottenham for Eric Dier, so that is fake news too.”

This is certainly interesting to hear.
It seemed as though a move to Roma for Dier was plausible, especially after Mourinho was hired, but it seems as though there’s in fact nothing to those rumours.
This news is bound to split the Spurs fanbase as some supporters are big fans of Dier’s while others would be happy to see him go.
Dier may not be going to Roma, but don’t discount Mourinho coming in for any of his other ex-players, as Spurs fans seem to be convinced that he’ll try to bring Erik Lamela back to his former club this summer.
We’ve got a feeling that this may not be the last time a Tottenham player is linked to Roma.
