Mo Salah got some Liverpool fans a little worried earlier this month.

Speaking to Spanish publication AS, the Reds attacker complimented both Real Madrid and Barcelona and refused to rule out a move to either at some point in the future.

The 28-year-old is still contracted to Liverpool until 2023 but after winning the Premier League and Champions League for Jurgen Klopp’s side, the Egypt international might well fancy a change of scenery for the peak years of his career.

But according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Salah has no plans on leaving Merseyside.

Speaking to Anfield Watch, Romano revealed that the player is ‘totally happy’ at Liverpool and both parties will hold talks about his future at the end of this season.

He said: “At the moment, Mo is totally happy with Liverpool, he’s totally happy with Klopp and he’s not planning to leave the club.

“But at the end of the season they will discuss what he wants to do in his future but it will be calm and relaxed because they know Mo is happy at Liverpool and they think with this board and manager and project it’s impossible to not be happy at Liverpool at the moment.”

This is exactly what Liverpool fans will have been wanting to hear.

It’s been a difficult season for the supporters because not only is the defence of their Premier League title up in the air, due to long-term injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, but it also looks like Gini Wijnaldum, a staple in the club’s success over the past two years, might be leaving in the summer.

There’s a lot of uncertainty at Liverpool for a number of reasons, but keeping Salah would be a huge boost for the coming years.
