Fabrizio Romano has told Sky Sports (Transfer Live blog, 1:34pm, February 1, 2021) that Liverpool have reached personal agreement with Ozan Kabak.

The well-known and well-respected journalist, who works for The Guardian and SkySport, has claimed that there is an agreement in place between Liverpool and the central defender regarding personal terms.

Romano has added that Liverpool and Schalke have yet to reach an agreement over a transfer fee for the Turkey international defender.

The Italian journalist told Sky Sports (Transfer Live blog, 1:34pm, February 1, 2021): “For Kabak, there is an agreement with the player for personal terms, but not yet between the clubs, there are negotiating about the possible to buy.”

Ozan Kabak to join Liverpool?

According to Sky Sports, Kabak is ready to undergo a medical in Germany if Liverpool and Schalke can agree on a deal.

The defending Premier League champions want to pay a loan fee of £2.5 million to secure the services of the Turkey international until the end of the season, according to the report, which has added that the Reds want to have the option to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2021.

Liverpool need a central defender for the rest of the season, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez long-term injury concerns and Joel Matip and Fabinho missing at times.
