Liverpool may be in the market for a new midfielder in the summer, with Georgino Wijnaldum’s contract set to expire.
The Dutchman may end up leaving for free, and whilst Curtis Jones is emerging well, the injury concerns over Naby Keita may tempt the Reds into the market.
One name recently linked is Renato Sanches, as Tuttomercatoweb reported mere days ago that the Reds have already found an agreement with Lille for his signature.
Liverpool allegedly see him as Wijnaldum’s replacement, given their belief that he will end up joining Barcelona on a free transfer.
Sanches, 23, was one billed as one of the game’s top young players having burst onto the scene with Benfica and then starred at Euro 2016.
However, a big move to Bayern Munich was a disappointment, and he even flopped in the Premier League when he spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Swansea City.

Sanches joined Lille in 2019 and has excelled in France, sparking rumours that he could make a big move in 2021 – possibly to Anfield.
Now though, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that there is no agreement in place with Liverpool, and the Reds aren’t planning any signings just yet as they wait to hear Wijnaldum’s decision.
