Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Friday afternoon that Tottenham are not giving up in pursuit of Wolves star Adama Traore. Romano claims that Tottenham are expected to make another push in the next few hours.

Traore, 25, has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs before the end of the January window. It is widely believed that there is a confidence a deal will go through, with Traore now in the final 18 months of his contract.

Fabio Paratici is an admirer of the Spain international and tried to sign the ex-Middlesbrough man while at Juventus. That is, despite Traore’s end product constantly coming into question – he has just one goal this season.

TalkSPORT reported, as did many others, that both Tottenham and Wolves want a deal to happen this month – but that Spurs are £5million below Traore’s £20million asking price. Romano reported an update on Friday.

He stated that Spurs are not going to give up in pursuit of the ex-Barcelona man, who shares the same agent as Matt Doherty – according to TransferMarkt, in Jorge Mendes. A new move could come in the next hours.

Romano on Traore: Tottenham have simply got to get deal done

If the difference, as TalkSPORT report, is just £5million, then surely Spurs have just got to cough up the difference and get a deal done. Given that Traore was rated at far north of £20million a season or two ago, it is cheap.

Traore will add cover on the right flank and competition to Lucas Moura but as widely reported – he could also be Antonio Conte’s new right wing-back, like he did with Victor Moses at Chelsea. A good signing.
