Speaking on the House of Champions Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared what he knows about the recent reports linking Marcelo Bielsa with a move to Bournemouth.
The Argentine was, of course, sacked by Leeds United earlier this year, but after nine months out of the game, it seems as though El Loco could soon be back in the Premier League.
The Athletic state that Bournemouth are keen on Bielsa, and now, Romano has claimed that this is a real possibility, but he does say that this may be a slow process as Bielsa looks to audit and assess the job he could be about to take on.

Bielsa to Bournemouth
Romano shared what he knows about the Argentine.
“Yes, it’s a real possibility. This is true, the board discussed this with Bielsa as a fascinating and interesting idea. We know how special Bielsa is. It’s not about the trophies, when you have Bielsa at the club it is something magic,” Romano said.
“They are thinking of Marcelo, but an important point is that we know how slow the process is when Bielsa is involed in talks because he wants to make sure about the ideas and have full control of the ideas. You have to support him with every idea, signing and project. They are thinking of him, but it’s not advanced stages yet.”
Statement
This would be a statement appointment from Bournemouth’s new owners.
Not only is Bielsa one of the most interesting managers in the world, this appointment would also show the direction Bournemouth’s soon-to-be new bosses want to go in.
Far too often these days, new owners stick their noses in affairs that are best off left to managers – we’re looking at you Todd Boehly, but the fact that Bournemouth are looking at Bielsa suggests that Bill Foley is willing to give his manager full autonomy when he eventually takes over on the south coast.
The Cherries may just be a club to keep an eye on as they move into this new era.
