Fabrizio Romano believes that Arsenal and Chelsea are ‘well-informed’ on a potential deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Victor Osimhen has no intention of staying at Napoli but a deal for him to leave the club may only materialise in the summer.
That is according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on Kick Streaming about Osimhen.
Osimhen fired Napoli to the Serie A title last season but his relationship with the club has become fractured this season.
The Nigerian is one of Europe’s truly elite strikers and he is bound to attract major interest in 2024.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano now claims that Osimhen has absolutely no intention of staying with Napoli.
Osimhen doesn’t want to sign a new contract and with his current deal expiring in 2025, an exit seems inevitable.
Romano know claims that both Arsenal and Chelsea are ‘well-informed’ on a potential deal to sign Osimhen.
Romano does though add that Napoli still have ‘no intention’ of selling Osimhen in January and only a ‘crazy’ offer would change their mind.
Napoli would need up to €140million (£120million) to sell Osimhen, leaving Romano to doubt that Arsenal will come up with a deal.
The expectation is that Osimhen will only move on in the summer, at which point Arsenal and Chelsea would likely lock horns.
“For Victor Osimhen, the first point to clarify again, as I’m always saying since September, Napoli and Osimhen have no agreement on a new contract,” said Romano. “That’s a crucial point because he’s only under contract until June 2025 and my indications are very clear – Osimhen is not signing a new deal at Napoli, so that’s the state of the thing as of today. In football, everything can change, everything can happen, but from what I am hearing, the position is very clear – Osimhen will not sign a new deal there.”
“Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking for a new striker, and both are well-informed on the situation of Osimhen. Both clubs are keeping an eye on the situation with Napoli but let me repeat once again, that Napoli have no intention to sell him in January. It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be difficult, only a crazy proposal could change the situation. I don’t see Arsenal going there and putting €130million, €140million for Osimhen. Would Chelsea try? Let’s see, but my feeling is that we have to wait because, probably, Osimhen is going to be a topic for the summer transfer window more than for the January transfer window,” he added.
Former Arsenal players excited about potential Osimhen deal
Arsenal are going for the Premier League title this season and signing somebody like Osimhen could give them the edge.
A January deal seems tricky but if there is even a glimmer of hope, Arsenal need to go for it.
Former Arsenal players have already been getting excited about the possibility of seeing Osimhen in the famous red and white shirt.
Ian Wright suggested on Monday that he would love to see Osimhen join Arsenal, believing that he is the lethal striker Mikel Arteta needs.
Kevin Campbell spoke in September too, believing that Osimhen would be a ‘groundbreaking’ signing for Arsenal if a deal was possible.
This will be expensive and may have to wait until the summer, but Arsenal seem to have a real chance of securing Osimhen.
