According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on a deal to sign Barcelona right back Nelson Semedo.
Romano states on Twitter that Wolves are ‘one step away’ from signing Semedo, with a new bid submitted on Saturday.
Barca are allegedly set to accept the bid, and work is ‘in progress’ to sort out personal terms with the right back.
Romano adds in The Guardian that the deal will be worth a huge €38million (£34.8million), as Wolves’ busy weekend continues.
They sold Diogo Jota to Liverpool on Saturday whilst also signing Reds defender Ki-Jana Hoever, with Semedo now a big-name capture.
The 26-year-old is seen as the perfect player to replace Matt Doherty, who left Molineux for a move to Tottenham Hotspur in August.
Semedo joined Barcelona from Benfica in a fee of around €35million, meaning the Catalan giants are only making a small profit.
He has played 124 games for Barca, showing pace and attacking ability whilst also earning 13 caps for Portugal – meaning he can now join the large Portuguese contingent at Wolves.
