Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Emile Smith Rowe’s Arsenal future amid ongoing links to Aston Villa.
The midfielder has been the subject of two bids from the Midlands outfit already this summer, and it’s seemingly up in the air as to whether or not he’ll be staying in north London.
However, Romano believes that Smith Rowe has already made a verbal agreement with the Gunners about his future.
What’s been said?
Romano was speaking about Smith Rowe’s future and a potential new contract for the 20-year-old.
“It’s not signed yet, but before Emile went on holiday this summer he had a verbal agreement ready with Arsenal, this is what I know. He’s coming back from his holidays and to meet with Arsenal, complete some details and then sign the contract with Arsenal. From Smith Rowe’s side he wants to stay at Arsenal, many times he’s said he’s living his dream with Arsenal, he wants to stay and Arsenal are so happy with him, so if someone wants to break the verbal agreement with Arsenal, they need to break the bank,” Romano said.

Great news
This is fantastic news if you’re an Arsenal fan.
Smith Rowe is one of the Gunners’ most important players these days, and they have to do all they can to keep hold of him this summer.
There’s a reason Gilberto Silva described him as ‘very good’, and the Gunners need to make sure he reaches his prime at the Emirates.
Luckily, it seems as though Smith Rowe will sign a new contract this summer.
