Tottenham Hotspur have secured a new long-term contract for left back Destiny Udogie having handed him a pay rise to stay in North London.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Destiny Udogie will now be staying at Tottenham Hotspur for a long time yet.

Udogie officially signed for Tottenham in 2022, completing a £15million move from Udinese.

Spurs allowed Udogie to spend last season on loan at Udinese before starting his Premier League campaign this season.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding so far this season and Tottenham have now taken steps to secure his future.

Fabrizio Romano now claims that Tottenham have reached an agreement to extend Udogie’s contract.

Romano believes that a ‘long term deal’ is now in place and is ‘all done’ with Udogie putting pen-to-paper on new terms.

Romano adds that Tottenham have given Udogie a pay rise having been left impressed with his start to life in the Premier League.

This has been a great 24 hours or so for Udogie, who scored the opener for Tottenham in a 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday.

The really impressive thing with Udogie is how he has completely changed his style of play under Ange Postecoglou.

Udogie was a left wing back for Udinese, flying up the flank and providing real width for the Serie A side.

Postecoglou plays an entirely different way though, not only pushing his full backs infield but even moving them forward to become additional attacking midfielders.

That is something Udogie would not have been familiar with but Tottenham are seeing him develop and thrive in that role.

The sky is the limit for Udogie and Tottenham will be very, very happy to have secured his future for years to come, as he should become a vital part of Postecoglou’s side.
