Fabrizio Romano has said on GiveMeSport that Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira is hoping for an offer from Everton.

The well-known and well-respected journalist, who works as a pundit for The Guardian and Sky Sport, has stated that Juventus want to offload Khedira, and that the 33-year-old has been offered to Everton.

Romano has added that the former Real Madrid star dreams of playing in the Premier League and is hoping for an offer from Everton.

The Sunday Mirror (print edition, January 3, 2021) has reported that Everton will offer Khedira an 18-month contract if he takes a significant pay-cut, as covered by HITC Sport here.

Romano said about Khedira on GiveMeSport: “He has been offered to Everton just because he is like a free agent. Juventus want to sell him for free, so we can consider him as a free agent trying to leave the club, but at the moment, Everton have not moved to sign Khedira.”

The journalist added: “At the moment, Khedira is hoping because he has a special relationship with Ancelotti. He was with him at Real Madrid, and he always had a dream to play in the Premier League.”

Would Sami Khedira make Everton better?

Khedira is 33 years of age now and is past his prime, but the Germany international is a very experienced midfielder.

Having worked with Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid, the German will know all about the Italian’s systems.

With Everton challenging for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season, a player of Khedira’s quality and experience would make the team stronger.

The 33-year-old is a serial winner, having won the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, La Liga, Copa del Rey (twice) and Champions League with Madrid, and Serie A (five times) with Juventus, as well as the 2014 World Cup with Germany.
