Fabrizio Romano has said on The Arsenal Lounge that Pep Guardiola does not want to sell Raheem Sterling amid reported interest from Arsenal.
The Daily Mail reported last month that Arsenal are interested in signing Sterling from Premier League rivals City in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that City are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old attacking midfielder.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has said that at the moment, City manager Guardiola wants to keep Sterling, who can also play as a winger.
Romano said on The Arsenal Lounge: “At the moment, Guardiola is still in the position that he wants to keep Raheem Sterling, but he is out of contract in two years, so they need to decide this summer if to close the negotiation over a new contract or not.”
There is no doubt that Arsenal would be a better and more potent team with Sterling in it.
The former Liverpool star is at the top of his game and scores goals as well as creates chances.

However, you have to ask whether Sterling could be convinced to move to Arsenal.
The Englishman is used to winning Premier League titles and playing in the Champions League with City.
Arsenal will not even play in the Europa League next season.
However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta worked with Sterling when he was a coach at City.
That could tempt the Englishman into a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Another factor to consider is the transfer fee that City could want.
The Premier League champions paid an initial £44 million for the attacker in 2015, as reported by BBC Sport at the time, and they are unlikely to sell him for a huge loss this summer.
