Liverpool feel that their move to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is progressing well.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Liverpool have put forward their project to try and sign Mac Allister.
Speaking on YouTube, Romano noted that Mac Allister will 100% leave Brighton early this summer.
Romano claims that Liverpool now think they are making real progress in their push to sign Mac Allister.
It’s stated that Liverpool have held a ‘direct meeting’ with Mac Allister’s representatives in order to discuss a move.
Those talks seem to have gone well with Liverpool now believing that their hopes are increasing.
Liverpool’s plan is to push for rough agreements with Mac Allister’s camp before then chasing an agreement with Brighton.
“Alexis Mac Allister is going to leave Brighton in the summer, 100%, this is not in doubt and this is something that will happen early in the summer,” said Romano. “I can tell you that Liverpool feel they are making progress in the negotiation to sign Alexis Mac Allister.”
“They presented their project the player’s side, so Liverpool had a direct meeting to present their project to Alexis Mac Allister. They are going to push on the player’s side, and then they feel they can close the deal with Brighton,” he added.
The Reds will face a huge fee to sign Mac Allister though.
90Min reported just last week that Brighton want around £70million in order to sell Mac Allister this summer.
That’s a huge mark-up on the £7million Brighton paid to sign Mac Allister but Liverpool may well step forward to pay it.

Alexis Mac Allister would have Adam Lallana’s backing for Liverpool
Mac Allister has enjoyed a strong season for Brighton, bagging eight goals and one assist in 28 Premier League games.
The 24-year-old also won the World Cup with Argentina and emerged into a key role for Lionel Scaloni’s side.
Mac Allister could bring real quality on the ball to Liverpool’s midfield and he would have Adam Lallana’s backing.
Lallana played an important role under Jurgen Klopp and is now with Mac Allister at Brighton.
Lallana has hailed Mac Allister as ‘incredible’ when speaking to The Times and has been dazzled by his displays for Brighton.
Klopp may well see shades of Lallana in Mac Allister, in terms of his ability on the ball and his hard work off it.
That may well be why Liverpool are pushing so hard for Mac Allister, as Klopp looks to revolutionise his midfield.
