Tottenham Hotspur appear to have missed out on their top managerial target.
Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho last week, and whilst Ryan Mason is in charge until the summer, he surely won’t be the permanent answer.
RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has been touted as Tottenham’s first choice, with Daniel Levy believed to be a big fan.
Unfortunately though, Nagelsmann is now set for Bayern Munich, who have been seeking a replacement for Hansi Flick ahead of his exit this summer.
Fabrizio Romano now claims that Nagelsmann did receive an approach from Tottenham – but turned them down.
A five-year deal with Bayern is imminent, though they are still negotiating a compensation fee with Leipzig.
This is obviously a blow for Tottenham, but it may not be all bad news, as this means Erik ten Hag isn’t heading to Bavaria.
Eurosport reported on Friday that Bayern were looking to land Ajax boss Ten Hag if they couldn’t get Nagelsmann.

Ten Hag had a spell at Bayern Munich II boss earlier in his career, so a move back to the German giants could have been very appealing.
Instead, the Dutchman is now moving up Tottenham’s list of potential Mourinho replacements according to The Telegraph.
Fans will be gutted at missing out on Nagelsmann, but Ten Hag is suddenly looking more and more likely for Spurs.
