Arsenal have been pursuing a new loan deal for Dani Ceballos – and it seems that the Gunners may be nearing an agreement.

Ceballos showed real quality under Mikel Arteta, playing surprisingly well as a central midfielder in a two when Arteta went to a 5-2-3.

The Spaniard has returned to Real Madrid at the end of his loan deal, and there have been plenty of rumours about his future.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that Ceballos is heading back to Arsenal having been convinced by Arteta to return.

The ‘green light’ is coming from Real Madrid, and an agreement is imminent for the Spaniard to head back to North London.

Romano added another tweet, stating that Ceballos turned down three rival offers, telling them ‘Only Arsenal’ for his destination this summer.

Ceballos, 24, only registered two goals and no assists in 24 Premier League last season, and Arsenal may well want more attacking output from the midfielder.

Now, with another year at the club – even if only on loan – it seems that Arsenal can tick off another key position filled ahead of the new season.
