Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies could end up being one of the next players to leave the club before this month’s transfer deadline.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who made the claim on Twitch on Tuesday evening.

When asked whether Davies could leave Tottenham, Romano admitted that it’s a real possibility and could happen soon.

“Yes, yes,” said Romano. “Ben Davies is one of the next players who could leave Tottenham,” he added.

Davies, 28, joined Tottenham from Swansea City back in 2014, arriving alongside Michel Vorm whilst Gylfi Sigurdsson headed to South Wales.

He hasn’t ever played more than 30 Premier League games in a season for Tottenham, and has had to battle with the likes of Danny Rose and Sergio Reguilon.

Davies has still managed to rack up almost 250 appearances for Tottenham despite not being first-choice for much of his time at the club, serving as a fairly dependable squad player.

Just where Davies could go is unclear. There aren’t really many rumours about clubs being interested in him right now.

Maybe new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo feels that he has enough at left back with Ryan Sessegnon and Reguilon, and doesn’t view Davies as being a left-sided centre back.

With Erik Lamela, Joe Hart, Paulo Gazzaniga, Danny Rose, Juan Foyth and Toby Alderweireld all gone, Davies could end up following suit before the end of the month.
