Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Carlo Ancelotti was open to selling Everton’s Moise Kean on a permanent deal this summer.
The Italian has starred this season out on loan at PSG, but it seemed as though Everton’s former manager had no plans to use him.
However, it seems as though Kean may now have a chance to stay at Everton, depending on the new manager is and what he decides.
What’s been said?
Romano says reports of PSG bidding for Kean are wide of the mark, but he also claims that there was a chance for him to leave Everton on a permanent basis under Ancelotti.
“Full of fake news around Moise Kean. People say Leonardo is preparing a €40m bid for Moise Kean, that’s not true. PSG are not signing Kean on a permanent deal. They’ve asked for one more season on loan so they are talking to Raiola about it. Of course, Everton are waiting for their new manager and then they will decice. Ancelotti was open to selling Moise Kean or to loan him out again to PSG, but let’s see the new manager, who it will be and what they will decide on Moise Kean,” Romano said.

What next?
The question remains, what does the future hold for Moise Kean at Everton?
Well, as the journalist says, a lot of it depends on who the new manager is.
If someone like Nuno Espirito Santo comes in, you’d expect Kean to be given a chance, given the fact that Nuno has been keen to hand out chances to young players throughout his career. Whereas if a manager like Rafa Benitez or Antonio Conte comes in, they may not be so keen to hand him a chance.
Kean’s situation is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming months.
