Tottenham appear to be on the verge of signing Real Madrid left back Sergio Reguilon, with a host of reports suggesting a deal is close.
AS report that Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho spoke to Real Madrid about a deal on Tuesday, with Spurs pushing to beat Manchester United to his signature.
They state that Spurs are prepared to accept Real’s demands for a buy-back clause, whereas United aren’t – and that means Tottenham are in the lead.
Fabrizio Romano then reported that Spurs made an official bid of €30million (£28million) for Reguilon, and have accepted the buy-back clause, though they must now work on sorting personal terms.
The Daily Mail added to the story, stating that Reguilon learned of how much Mourinho wanted to sign him, and that has now swayed him towards Spurs over United.
Reguilon, 23, spent last season on loan at Sevilla, and starred as an attack-minded left back, bagging three goals and five assists.
The Spaniard looks to have a bright future, and will give Spurs a more dynamic option at left back than Ben Davies currently provides.
He could end up back at Real with that buy-back clause, which is something of a concern, but Spurs appear to have won a massive coup in Reguilon.
