Fabrice N’Sakala wanted to join Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Left back Fabrice N’Sakala has been quoted by Foot News in Belgium as saying that he wanted to sign for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2015 – but was blocked from doing so.
Wolves have undergone many changes in recent years, from managers like Paul Lambert and Walter Zenga to Nuno, and a huge overhaul of players too.
Now in the Premier League, Wolves have exciting talents like Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Helder Costa available, but fans will recall some less than impressive deals in recent years.
The 2015-16 season saw the likes of Nathan Byrne, Michal Zyro, Joe Mason and Mike Williamson arrive with little success, whilst 2016 saw the club bring in Prince Oniangue, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Paul Gladon; three relative flops.
It seems that another target from 2015 was left back Fabrice N’Sakala, who is now in Turkey with Alanyaspor following a 2016 move.
The DR Congo international, 28, made his name with Belgian side Anderlecht, but has now opened up on how they prevented him from making a move to England with Wolves.
As been quoted by Foot News, N’Sakala has revealed that he wanted to join Wolves in 2015, but Anderlecht blocked him from going due to an injury to Ivan Obradovic, and he was left frustrated after he barely played following his blocked move.
“I never had a chance in Anderlecht,” said N’Sakala. “When I wanted to go to Wolverhampton in the summer of 2015, the leaders blocked my transfer because Obradovic was injured. I thought I would be first choice, but no, at the winter break they went to get Alexander Büttner, and after that I did not play anymore,” he added.
