Fabio Vieira hasn’t had the easiest start to life at Arsenal.

Indeed, the Portuguese attacking midfielder is still awaiting his Gunners debut, and he suffered an injury almost as soon as he arrived in north London.

Sadly, Vieira hasn’t hit the ground running at Arsenal just yet, but, make no mistake about it, this is a young player with bags and bags of ability just waiting to be unlocked.

It may take time. After all, Vieira is only 22 years old and he’s moved to a brand new country where he doesn’t really know anyone.

However, that may soon be about to change.

Indeed, according to The Athletic, Arsenal are in talks with Wolves over a move for Pedro Neto, and this rumour may well put a smile on Vieira’s face.

The two Portuguese players are, of course, teammates at international level, playing with one another for both Portugal’s U19s and U21s, and uniting these two at club level could be beneficial.

Not only are they two players that complement each other well – one is a creative number 10 with a brilliant eye for a pass and the other is a pacy winger who loves to get in behind, they’ll also be able to help one another settle at the club due to their pre-existing relationship.

You see it all the time in football where a player is signed just to help someone else settle, Lucas Radebe and Phillip Masinga are perhaps the most famous examples at Leeds United, but this happens all the time, with the likes of Kylian Hazard, Jonathan Benteke and Antonio Donarumma all getting moves just to help their more-talented siblings settle at their new clubs.

Having a friend or a family member at the same club as you can help any player settle and kick-on, and Neto could have that sort of effect on Vieira.

Of course, signing Neto wouldn’t just be a ploy to help get the best out of Vieira – you don’t spend £50m on a player just to act as a travel buddy to one of your other stars, but the fact that Neto could help Vieira settle would certainly be a little bonus if this deal gets over the line.

Vieira must be buzzing to see Arsenal linked with Neto.
