Fabio Paratici is Tottenham’s new Sporting Director, and that means he’ll be in charge of all of the club’s transfer business this summer.

There looks to be a number of exciting signings on the horizon for Tottenham, with the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Marcel Sabitzer already linked, but in our view, Paratici’s best piece of business this summer may have nothing to do with Spurs.

Indeed, Paratici negotiated a deal at Juventus that is set be finalised this summer, and it could blow anything Spurs do this window out of the water.

Last summer, Paratici negotiated a loan-to-buy deal for Federico Chiese that would eventually see the youngster join Juve for €40m (£34m0), and it will be tough for Spurs to match that type of deal.

Chiesa looks like an absolute star, the 23-year-old has been one of the best players at Euro 2020 so far, scoring a brilliant goal in the semi-final, and after netting 14 goals in his debut season for Juventus, £34m looks like an absolute bargain.

Perhaps this type of deal is a sign of things to come from Paratici at Spurs, but deals like this don’t come around every year.

The reality is that it’s going to be tough for Paratici to make a better signing than Chiesa at Spurs this summer, especially at £34m.

Paratici may work wonders with Tottenham this summer, of course, it remains to be seen who he signs, but it’s hard to imagine that he’ll do a better piece of business than signing Chiesa for £34m this summer.
