Tottenham target Weston McKennie available for £25m

90min have reported that Juventus are willing to sell USA international midfielder McKennie for €30 million (£25.13 million) in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Tottenham had been considering a bid for the 23-year-old earlier this summer, but they have since signed Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold said on YouTube in June that Tottenham Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, wanted to sign the American in the January transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist added that “Spurs will seriously look at Weston McKennie this summer”,

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could well be able to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

A transfer fee of £25 million for a 23-year-old established international player playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world is not a massive amount.

Yes, Tottenham have signed Bissouma this summer, and there is also Rodrigo Bentancur in the team.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte does have options in midfield, but Paratici could see McKennie as one for the future who could become a mainstay at Spurs for years to come.

McKennie made 15 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A for Juventus last season.

The American star scored three goals in those games.
