Fabio Paratici has stated that Daniel Levy thinks ’24 hours’ about Tottenham, as he told his press conference.
It has been a fair few months since Paratici has been in the Sporting Director’s hot seat at Spurs and he has described Levy as a ‘big person’ at the club.
In recent years, Levy has come under-fire from his own supporters because of how things have panned out since reaching their first Champions League final in 2019.
From sacking Mauricio Pochettino, the whole saga surrounding Jose Mourinho and his firing days before a League Cup final.
Then, taking an age to bring in his replacement, only to hand it to Nuno Espirito Santo and sack him within months.
But this appointment of Antonio Conte is a popular one and it has sent a statement of intent out to the rest of the Premier League.
Levy and Paratici are the men behind it all, as the Italian shared what the English businessman is like.
“He has a big precedent,” said Paratici. “He is a big person. He works hard. He thinks 24 hours Tottenham, so my relationship is very good and I am happy to be here.
“I am happy to have this relationship with him and everybody in this club.”
It’s going to be interesting to see how Paratici is viewed by the Spurs supporters during the early stages of his reign.
Things haven’t started as well as he would have liked, but at the end of the day, he needs to get warm in the seat.
And even before that could happen, they have already sacked a manager, but his status has probably been lifted with Conte’s arrival.
Would Levy have gone for Conte if Paratici wasn’t here? And would he have been able to lure him to North London without his new Sporting Director? Probably not on both accounts, in truth.
