Cardoso spent a year at Ibrox, but had found himself out of favour under the new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.

Fabio Cardoso has found a new club just hours after leaving Rangers.
Rangers announced earlier on Monday that Cardoso’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent, barely a year since he joined the Ibrox side for £1.3 million.
And the former Vitoria Setubal centre-back has now returned to his home country – albeit around 1,000 miles west of the mainland – with Santa Clara.

Cardoso only played 18 times during his year at Rangers, and had found himself out of favour under the new Ibrox manager, Steven Gerrard.
The 24 year old was even left without a squad number after the summer arrivals of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, while at least one more new face is anticipated in his position.
Who would you like to fill the void left by Cardoso in Rangers’ squad?
