Rangers ace Daniel Candeias has been praised by ex-Ibrox teammate Daniel Candeias.

Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has proven himself to be one of the few success stories from Pedro Caixinha’s recruitment – and has been praised by one of his former teammates.

Ex-Gers boss Caixinha oversaw deals for the likes of Bruno Alves, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera, who all proved to be flops at Ibrox.

Alfredo Morelos has been the biggest success, but winger Candeias has also starred since arriving in Glasgow, and remains important under Steven Gerrard.

A favourite of Caixinha having worked together at Nacional, Candeias has grabbed three goals and four assists this season, and remains a key part of the Rangers side even with Caixinha long gone.

Candeias grabbed the second goal for Rangers in their 4-3 defeat at Spartak Moscow before the international break, producing a fine piece of skill to open up the chance for a shot.

The Portuguese winger instantly controlled a long ball whilst turning quickly before firing into the net, showing off outstanding skill to pull off such a move.

Now, UEFA have compiled a host of skills from Europa League games this season and asked for the best player involved in the video, with ex-Rangers defender Cardoso responding by naming Candeias as the top star on show, showing the Santa Clara centre back still thinks about the Gers despite his miserable spell with the club.
