Sunderland went down 4-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a positive message after the hammering by Manchester City on Boxing Day.
The Black Cats’ lost their fourth successive Premier League game on Saturday afternoon, as they went down 4-1 away from home at the Etihad Stadium.
Raheem Sterling, Yaya Toure, Wilfried Bony and Kevin De Bruyne were on target for City, while Borini found the target for the visitors just before the hour mark.
Sam Allardyce’s side are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, but Borini is staying positive.
Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from 18 matches. The Black Cats are five points behind 17th-placed Norwich City.
Allardyce’s team will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Liverpool at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats will start the New Year with a home game against fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa on January 2.
