Sunderland forward Fabio Borini took to Twitter after his side’s 1-1 draw at Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
Jermain Defoe opened the scoring for the Black Cats, making it look like they were about to win their seventh derby in a row against their fiercest rivals.
But Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late equaliser finally ended Newcastle’s losing run v Sunderland and secured a point apiece.
The result doesn’t really do much for either side, instead handing Norwich City a small bonus in their bid to beat the drop.
As such, Borini expressed his disappointment at not making it seven in a row on social media – but he was happy with the fans and sent an emphatic message to supporters:
Sunderland host West Brom and face Norwich City during two of their next three Premier League games – both of which are very winnable encounters for the Black Cats.
Table-toppers Leicester City are Sunderland’s opponents in between that, though, while Newcastle face Norwich in a crucial clash after the international break.
