Fabinho has told Liverpool’s official website that there is nowhere better to be playing football, than at Anfield. The Brazilian is a fan favourite at Liverpool, and explained he expects to see out his current deal until 2026.

Fabinho, 28, has already clocked up an enormous 157 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions despite only joining the club from Monaco in 2018. This term, he has six of his nine Liverpool goals in his 35 outings.

Joining Liverpool after being converted into a midfielder by Leonardo Jardim, Fabinho has since become renowned as one of the best in his position in world football. His £180,000-a-week (Spotrac) deal ends in 2026.

Discussing his future, Fabinho stated that he is more than happy at Liverpool. However, he did concede that he does not know where his head will be at come the end of his current deal, which expires when he is 32.

“Liverpool is a special place – there’s nowhere better to play football, so my head is fully focused here. I don’t know what my situation will be like in four years, but at this moment I only think of Liverpool.

“I don’t think about moving to another team because I’m very happy here. What I want for my career is to be part of a competitive side and win as much as possible. The best place to do that is definitely Liverpool.”

Fabinho on future: Liverpool can count on star for his best years

Liverpool are at the pinnacle of European football and they have Jurgen Klopp to thank for that. But to remain there, they need to keep their best players and continue to add quality, as they have done with Luis Diaz.

Keeping Fabinho is absolutely fundamental and the Brazilian’s show of loyalty to the Reds until he is 32, means they will have him to rely on for his peak years. Whether that will be alongside Mo Salah, remains to be seen.
